For UK business-supplies distributors

Still retyping
customer orders?

Less time entering orders. More time serving customers. Find the practical changes that could improve your order desk, starting with the systems you already use.

Founder-led by Justin Sherwood · Based in Lancashire

The detail is where
the work builds up.

Your customers use their own product references. Prices depend on the contract. A “box” is not always the same quantity. A useful improvement needs to handle those details.

01

Repeated entry

The same order moves from an inbox to a spreadsheet and then into your sales system.

02

Pricing checks

Someone needs to check whether the price on the purchase order matches the customer’s agreement.

03

Exceptions and delays

An unclear product code or pack size holds up the whole order while someone finds the answer.

A checked order.
A person in control.

Step through a fictional order with a contract-price mismatch. The proposed workflow makes the exception visible before a draft is prepared.

This is a demonstration of the approach, not a ready-made integration. Compatibility and data access are checked during the review.

The order desk needs to identify the product, pack size and the customer’s agreed price.

Order Desk Review

A clear plan
for one workflow.

£995 fixed review fee*

For a distributor whose team regularly enters and checks emailed orders. You receive a practical recommendation you can use, whether or not we build anything afterwards.

  1. Map the work. One 90-minute workshop with up to three colleagues, covering one order-entry workflow and one destination system.
  2. Check the evidence.Review up to ten redacted sample orders across up to three formats, your handling-time estimates and the system’s available import or integration options.
  3. Choose the next step.A written workflow map, prioritised improvements, assumptions, constraints and a baseline for measuring time and errors.
  4. Walk through the findings.A 45-minute readout and, where justified, a separately scoped pilot proposal. Existing software or a process change may be the best answer.

*Introductory fee. Any applicable VAT, scope and delivery date will be confirmed in writing before you commit. Implementation, software licences and ongoing support are quoted separately. Findings are targeted within five working days of the workshop and receipt of the agreed samples.

Relevant founder experience

From EPOS to finance.
Experience across the order.

At Seriun, Justin led an office-supplies ERP project for around 30 users, with a team of up to 10. The scope included stock, finance, contract pricing and B2B/B2C online ordering.

Delivered approximately 2008–2011, that programme reduced rekeying and improved ordering, stock accuracy and reporting. It informs today’s approach to the details of distributor operations.

Before we talk.

Do we need a new ERP?

We start by checking what your current system can already do. The review may recommend using an existing feature, simplifying a process, or a focused integration.

Can you guarantee a saving?

No. We establish a baseline using your actual workflow and data, then assess whether a change is commercially worthwhile.

Is the first conversation paid?

No. The 20-minute assessment checks fit and identifies the problem. The £995 review is a separate engagement, agreed in writing.

What happens after the review?

You can use the findings yourself. If a pilot makes sense, we agree a separate scope around one workflow, one destination system and defined formats. Support is optional and separately quoted.

Start with one conversation

Show us where
the order gets stuck.

Tell Justin which system you use, roughly how many orders are entered manually and what causes the most work. We’ll reply within one working day to arrange a free 20-minute assessment.

No preparation pack needed for the first call. We’ll arrange any redacted samples separately if a review is appropriate.
